Thread: DGR coilovers VS Koni FSD's

  1. Default DGR coilovers VS Koni FSD's

Ok, so ive come to a dilemma when i have to choose between Koni FSD's or DGR coilovers.
What are your thoughts and opinions guys as i am tossing up between the two?

It will be used mainly for daily driving and just bit spirited driving here and there, will be install whiteline from and rear sway bars also.

Main driving FSD's if tracked on weekends than coilovers. Just have a look at bilstein B6 or B8's, found them to have dampening to suit driving hard but cuz there mated to normal springs/lowering springs the rides ok

Konis ride better daily under 80ks but bilsteins have great control esp at higher speeds faster you go the better the ride and control. for example- at 100-110kph theres a part of road i travel everyday that has a few bumps one after the other, the Konis would jump in the air the Bilsteins you dont know they are there!!

Put in some (installed and forget) . Coilovers will cause you some grief as most people will continually fiddle with adjustments .

If you want to improve the cars comfort while improving the cars handling get the FSD's
If you want to race your car and be able to brag to all your mates that you have coilovers, get the DGR's

    this ^
Bilstien B6's for standard height, or B8's for lowering + decent springs is also a good combination

Looks like everyones suggesting the Bilstein B6's. What about if its only like 30mm lower? Can i still go for the B6?
Also, anyone got reputable places to get prices on these from?

If you want lower go for Bilstein B8 with either eibach or swift springs.
If you don't want lower, go with the Koni FSD

If it's a daily, just springs and shock as suggested above.

I have coilovers in my daily and weekend car because I can.
Coilovers are good for (bragging rights) and for those who want adjustment.

perfect daily driver + better handling = fsd and standard springs
good daily + lower, little track day = koni yellow + lowering spring
great ride and track day = B6 and standard springs
ok ride and good trackday = B8's and lowering springs
Perfect track very little ride = coilovers

Love my coilovers for their adjustability. Kinda harsh for daily but OCD = need to continually adjust ride height (insert involuntary twitch) and firmness...

Anyone know best place to get Bilsteins for decent price locally?

Is there such a thing as a coilover setup that can be adjusted to be at least as soft as the stock suspension? I need to go firmer and lower for track days but also want higher and softer than stock for daily driving.

    I want it all.

So it looks like Koni yellow + eibach (or similar) for daily with little to no track?
Are b8s really that much different to koni for a dd?
Where is a good place to buy people?

simply put 'YES'.. B8's are harder.. @Reedy if you want both i would say Koni yellows with a Eibach spring ( Koni's give you adjustable front dampening which would aid you). Or B8's with a hard spring choice... B8's ae harder on the road but offer better control when pushed..

NOTE- koni yellow dont like too low, only drop 1' with these!!
