Data on the topic one way or another very extremely difficult to locate I'd like to read some if you have any.

I don't think many people track their cars but down the drag strip, there are far more benefits to fatter tyres then in corners.

Please play nice and remember sarcasm does not come across well in text..

Id encourage anyone to ensure that whatever fitment they are looking at is legal as some of the 'interesting' fitments ive seen these days are good excuses for insurance companies to NOT pay out claims.
Call me boring but wide tyres on skinny rims or skinny rims with wide tyres are just odd.

Well that's a pretty open question, need more info on car usage and suspension:
    - Daily driven? Track attack? Hellaflush garage queen?
    - Coilovers? Springs?

Also depends on whether you want to stay legal or not which would limit what can be fitted

Federal SS595 (NOT EVO or RS) are the only 235/40 OK'd and warrantable on a 7.5" rim that I'm aware of. If the manufacturer says yes, I'm up for it. If it's outside spec, as it is for the vast majority, well that's just taking risks with safety....

If you wanted to keep things in balance you can go a 235/35 or 235/40 and it won't bulge as much.

But fat tyres on rims look awesome, much better then stretch and much safer. a bit of sidewall movement can improve handling (obviously too much can reduce it).

What sarcastic said but you can run with less offset say 40 just need to dial in some -camber

    Hey guys,

I've searched absolutely everywhere, but is there anyone running 18x8.5 +30 for a gen2 MPS3 on coilovers?

Just wondering how much work is required to fit them and if BC coils will have enough camber to sit them flush?

They will fit, they will be flush (perhaps a small poke that can be fixed with camber) and you will want coils and to roll the rears.

This is 18x8.5 +40 (so another 10mm of poke is what to expect)

I did a test fit on my GEN2 with EVO X rims (18x8.5 +38) and any larger / lower I would have needed to roll the rears and added camber to the fronts.

Yes they will fit but your guards will need to be rolled or bumps will see your tires get shredded a bit. Go for 40 profile and not 45 as well :-)
