Here are some helpful links - Online Wheel & Tyre Fitment calculator. Offset, Tyre stretch and Rolling Radius calculator - awesome tool
    - Tire size calculator - make sure you click to run this java plugin when it drops down or pops up (depending on which browser you use)or it wont work

if the more wheel & tyre experienced members could provide answers that would be great

No chance in hell bro.... I have 18's with +45 offset on a 8.5" rim with slight scrubbage under hard cornering.... your scenario would see the wheels sticking out a futher 22mm, that's crazy talk :-P

Nice one Ax. Can we say at the outset, keep excessive comment down to real world experiences vs expletives about massive offsets.

This comment from Mr99GTT is useful as its a good guide as to what works for him, and it your setup could work.

Would it not be useful to add peoples suspension setup, plus of they have rolled their guards etc?

Will they fit? Yes, just. DGR coilovers , set quite low in the rear. Not rolled.

guys just another note, camber plays a huge part as to whether a certain wheel size will fit. I'm on 18x8 +45 on AD08 235/40/18, guards rolled, they still scrub in the rear without any passengers. this is because I've out camber at only -0.5 to get better handling. So i'd suggest putting in camber into the equation.

also what do endlinks and balljoints have to do with whether a certain wheel will fit? asking cause I dont know how it relates, happy to be educated

    MPS Model: gen1 3
    Wheel Brand: OZ Ultraleggera
    Wheel size: 18x8 +45
    Tyre size: 235/40/18

Will you be Rolling the Guard's (Yes/No): Already rolled in rear
Wanted Ride Height (When compared to standard): slightly lower (on eibach springs)
Will you be running Coilovers (Yes/No): No
Will you have Adjustable endlinks (Yes/No): No
Will you be running SPC ball joints (Yes/No): No

edit: I totally read the post incorrectly as well lol, but anyways, the above fits

The spc ball joints for the 6 mps are your front wheel camber adjustment so they can play a huge roll i dont know about the 3's front camber adjustment mechanism and end-links just help with the overall feel of the car also you cant go to low without adjustable end-link's or your sway bar will knock on the chassis they also play a small roll in how your car takes a corner which could mean less scrub on the guards

    Hey all,

I have been searching OZMPS, MAZDAPSPEED, ETC for some wheel and tyre info.

    MPS Model: 2012 MPS 3 Gen 2
    Wheel Brand: OZ Racing Ultraleggera
    Wheel size: 18x8 + 48
Tyre size: 225/40/18 (re-use stock tyres)

I know that these will poke 10mm further then the stock wheels, and that they should fit.
However, most people who have posted info have either got a Gen 1 or a coilover set-up. So I am not sure how accurate they would be on a Gen 2.

So anyone with a similar wheel and tyre combo please help out.
    - At stock height will they cause any issues?
    - Will they poke out of the guards or will they be pretty close to level with the guards?
    - Any problems that I have overlooked with this combo?

    Daniel.

***EDIT: Found a 18x8 +42 setup @ stock height. Looks to be problem free. No more info needed but feel free to throw in your 2c worth.

18x8 + 42 with meaty nitto nt05 tyres is what I have on my gen 2 mps. It was on stock suspension, now on eibach pro kit. Still no scrubbing, even with full car

Must be very close though, Gen 1 with same tyres @ 235/40/18 on 18x8 +45 rims with coil-overs and I had to get my guards rolled as I would scrub over bumps etc, not sure if the gen 2's have any extra clearance in the rear though

Possibly, but i've seen your car driving and gap between guard and wheel definately looks smaller than mine. I can fit two fingers between so that may also be reason why I get no scrubbing.

In running RX-8 GT Rims 19x8 on my GenII
    225/40 on the rear
    245/40 on the front

Very slight run on left hand wheel on full lock and on a angle, but otherwise no probs
