Performance brake fluid compilation
I'm going to have my brake fluid flushed with some better fluid when its due, so thought I'd just start a compilation of the fluids I've found.
Firstly, my definition of a performance brake fluid is something with a dry boiling point of 300degree and above.
From my readings, you can't mix silicone based fluids with polyethylene glycol-based, the latter which most cars use such as the MPS meeting the following standard SAE J1703 or FMVSS116 DOT-3.
Below are a list of non-silicone performance fluids but doesn't necessarily mean its compatible with the factory standards
TRW Lucas GP600 (as recommended by GSL Rallysport)
US FMVSS 116 DOT3 and DOT4
Dry: 312
Wet: 204
Price (per/L): $65
Penrite SIN (Penrite advise not to mix with DOT3 fluids)
US FMVSS 116 DOT4, SAE J1704
Dry: 310
Wet: 198
Price (per/L): ~$40 (sold as 500mL units)
Motul RBF660
US FMVSS 116 DOT4, SAE J1703
Dry: 325
Wet: 204
Price (per/L): ~$90 (sold as 500mL units)
Motul RBF600
US FMVSS 116 DOT4, SAE J1703
Dry: 312
Wet: 205
Price (per/L): ~$70 (sold as 500mL units)
Castrol React SRF
US FMVSS 116 DOT3 and DOT4, SAE J1703
Dry: 320
Wet: 270
Price (per/L): ~$140
Castrol SRF
US FMVSS 116 DOT3 and DOT4, SAE J1703
Dry: 310
Wet: 270
Price (per/L): ~$130
Performance Friction Brakes RH665
US FMVSS 116 DOT4
Dry: 325
Wet: 195
Price (per/L): $84 (sold as 500mL units)
For the value, the Penrite SIN seems to be the best out there. Also coming in 500ml bottles helps with bleeds in between the full flush.
Also am I right in saying that its fine to use DOT3 and DOT4 fluids, provided they aren't mixed? That is, do a full flush if changing between the two standards?

Yup do a full flush and you can use whatever you want. I use Motal RBF600, car is used in motorsports.
