Angry mazda's engine mount design fail

this has been annoying me for a while now and i just want to voice myself and its at mazda's engine mount design failure who was responsible for the mount's on the 6 mps honestly i think 10 year old kids could come up with a better system then mazda did. i mean the fact that there is no mount for the motor and gearbox at the front of the car is just stupid + the dumb ass stick type driver side motor mount that die's as soon as your engine rock's (because of no front engine mount) that stick mount allows the motor to rock and when your talking the total weight of the motor rocking almost a total of 20 degrees at gear change its a huge amount of force its almost like they designed it to fail.... idiots... it make me want to rage attack my car sometimes

Please get serious about your cars mazda as something like this ruin's your well paid for driving experience

there thats it i've had my vent now

Have you replaced side mounts? What have you broken?

I'm almost keen to strap a gopro under the bonnet to actually record how bad the engine movement is...

^ Which side is that dude?

Rear mounts are just as bad. Mazda doesn't know how to make rubber it seems

    That's Sam's rear engine mount.

These engines move a fair bit with stock mounts to be sure. It was vids like these that made me instantly buy an aftermarket rear engine mount

All Parts - Engine Mounts - Mazdaspeed6 - AWR Racing Store

the movement is really starting to sh!t me... I'm replacing my side mount very shortly because it's on the way out, and it's thumping around even under a light gear shift... It's screaming for a dampener or something. (which a quick google came up with Weapon-R Engine Torque Damper Mazdaspeed6 04-06)

Has anyone fitted a dampener to a MPS before?

there's also this which apparently is the ducks nuts...

Stiffy - Engine Torque Damper - Ingalls Engineering Co., Inc.

I'm keen too, we should see if any of the other Perth 6 lads wanna go in on a group buy or something?

Yeah, well there's a lot of 6 guys here in WA, we might have success with it. That stiffy one doesn't show a price? In fact it doesn't even show a 6mps option :-/

The Ingalls has been discussed here before:

There were issues encountered with RHD cars unfortunately

    Ah bugger.
Well considering it's a similar price to the TT front engine mount, I might look down that path instead

Perth 6MPS captial of the world.... I just wish that would make my replacement tail lamps get here sooner (waiting 8 weeksn and counting).

I think the advantage with the Ingalls Stiffy is that it's adjustable where as the others aren't it would pretty easy to get a plate bent up to suit from the top of the strut and the side engine mount, the only thing that worries me is that the bolts on the struts are pretty on the limit as far as threads go, and I wouldnt like to be sticking anything too thick under the nuts (I think a strut brace would rule it out).

I'm sifting through the forums to see if I can find anyone who's installed one in a 6... I'll get back to you.

The brackets are interesting, I think I can sort of see how it fits together...

    edit: http://www.weapon-r.com/products/fil...59-111-126.PDF

From the look of the photos the RHD 6s have more room then the LHD ones do, there's some A?C lines that cross near the strut tower that aren't on my car .

I dont like the idea of putting the mount for the dampener between the engine mount and fixing on the block though :\
