Thread: Brake Caliper Paint

  1. Default Brake Caliper Paint

    Hello fellow MPS owners.....

    I am looking for lumo/ fluro orange break caliper paint.... and a good alloy repairer (ahem... ahemmm... cough cough... one should not drive first thing in the morning - there are a lot of rogue curbs about at 4am)

    Anyone know anyone...? Or where to get paint? I will probably be looking to paint my wheels too at some stage but I think I'll need to save up for that one............................

    Thanks!

    These guys make a good product:
    http://www.duplicolor.com/products/caliperPaint/

    But they don't seem to do orange.

    These guys do custom:

    ...and here is your orange

    if you want a REALLY impressive finish - try this stuff.

    it's a two part paint system, got to put a base down, and the metalcast paint over the top - takes a bit longer but it looks amazing IMO. I did my Stagea calipers in candy red, but they have ORANGE too.

    Dupli-Color :: Metalcast

    In orange:

    can also use it for other stuff - i did my engine cover (it's not for everyone - pretty sure guy who bought it off me used it as a frisbee - but the owner prior to me was a Melbourne Storm fanatic and had painted it yellow and purple with a hand brush so as far as i'm concerned it was an improvement! also did carbon fiber vinyl inlays and wrapped strut brace)

    Was thinking of Duplicolor myself for my brake calipers (when I get the RX8 wheels done)

    I think if you wanted a really strong almost fluro orange like on lambos you need to use a flat colour with a white undercoat. Although you can control the brightness of the metalcast paint by the number of coats you do.

    I think I am going to need to get a custom paint mixed up.... but the white undercoat is such a good idea! I hadn't thought of that!

    This is what they are now actually fading could do with a respray. Pics not best but get the idea. It was just white knight stuff. $8 a can.
