Hey Guys and Gals ive got a query and was wondering if any of you guys or gals knew what kind of problem this may be..

well first off ive got a Mazda 3 Mps Gen 1. and the problem is that theres a knocking noise at the front going over bumps or very un even roads (Sydney), but ive only realised this when the car is cold and from the start of the morning.. and when youve driven it or warmed the car up for 10-15 mins the knocking noise disapears!?!?.. so i went to pedders for a check and they quoted me on the front strut mounts to be replaced and the front lower control arm rear bushes to be replaced.. any one here has had this similar problem?? im confused because i hear the knocking noise over bumps then later they disappear.. im leaning towards that when the car is warmed up which ever "bolts" are lose become tight from the heat contraction..

any thoughts or solutions much appreciated!! thank you for reading..

Suspension bolts dont get hot and if they did the would expand Not contract.
Take your car to another suspension specialist for verification of Pedders.

Exact same as my car. Was really bad when cold, better when warm. Changed the D bushes on the front sway bar. Cheap and easy to do. Even if thats not the problem they are worth doing as it is a common fault.
Plus of all the things that causes clunks they are by far the cheapest to fix

thanks for the advice, yeah taking it to another mechanic to find the issue and solution, most probly the bushes for the lower control arms or the front sway bar, and yeah it seems like a common issue for these mps 3s.. will let every one know the out come . thanks again!

I got to do my swaybar bushes too. For the guides i have read though - bit of a shitty task if you don't have a hoist.

Only tricky part is which angle use to get at the bolts and working out which spanners and how to set up a ratchet
Working that out is the longest part.
I did mine with just the front jacked up.
On a hoist it would be more comfortable, but not easier.

Just don't attempt it after driving the car. Arm gets a bit close to the exhaust.
