    Hi all,
    Just another quick question, i herd that mazda has restricted the turbo and made it limited in 1st and 2nd gear, is there any way of taking this restriction off? has anybody done it? and does it make much of a difference?

    Yes, yes, yes
    Done via a tune, either get a box tune (ie hypertech) or a custom tune done...

    To remove the restrictions you will need a flash tune. Either a custom flash (ECUTek, Chiptorque EZYFlash), a generic flash (Hypertech) or what id guess you call a Hybrid (Cobb Accessport/Versatuner).
    Yes, it makes a huge difference. However, you may find that it can be a bit useless with any other mods because you will just wheelspin down the street. Even with semi-slicks.

    You would benefit from a tune without even removing the restrictions - the Hypertech increases power with out making it too mental.

    I may be wrong, but I am pretty sure a EBC or MBC will not override your boost restrictions.

    an aftermarket EBC wont, it just reads what the stock tune wants, and tells the turbo to do that
