Thread: Mps modding complete !

  1. Default Mps modding complete !

    Hey Everyone,

New user of this site, just finished upgrading my 2007 MPS 3
    usual stuff:
    AEM CAI
    COBB Down Pipe
    EIBACH - PROKIT
    ECUTEK TUNE - MRT
    PRO SPORT EVO Boost Gauge
Sitting on 20's (CX9) with Achilles Sport Racing wheels. ( sought of contradicts the performance mods, though it does reduce the severe wheel spin and i get a mix of performance and aesthetics )

Welcome GMAC. You must be related to a JMAC who like to hang around the forum.

Car looks good on the CX9's. You happy with the mods?

From stock, to GT3071, to substantially less modded, many lessons learned!

HAHA.. complete... for now.. oh yeah i forgot to mention i also have a CPE TMIC.
There is a big difference before and after, Originally i my top was about 190KW at the DRIVE TRAIN KW now reading is about 218 KW so im guessing at the wheels its about 190.
Mixed opinions about the CAI, but personally i LOVE the sound produced.
My best friend owns an evo 8 and rolling start i was able to beat him through all gear ranges .. ( i must admit though his brother was driving my car, they are both awesome drivers etc, not saying i cant drive but i am man enough to admit when someone is better. )
But yeah tested it out against an sti , r32 , 200sx all with the MPS coming out on top..

But the drive is still okay as an every day car.

For those with aftermarket sway bars.. was it worth it etc.. ??

I must add that all of my parts where purchased through street unit, ended up saving my self easily over $650 .

People can complain all they like about torque steer etc etc, but I personally like the fact that the car and I have to work together.. rather than sitting back and pushing a pedal and going fast..

Welcome GMAC9, the whiteline rear sway bar will dramatically improve body roll ,if installed on the stiffest setting.
Def get a rear engine mount to stiffen up engine bay movement!!

    Hey GMAC9.

Have to agree with Paul (above), an upgraded rear engine mount is pretty much a must with power mods on an MPS.

I have tried a few mounts now and would highly recommend the Cpe Stage 2. Very good combination of locking the engine down, and not to savage on the NVH side of things either.

Awesome looking MPS 3! Nice mod list to go with it aswell.
Love the CX9 wheels on a MPS and if you get the car sitting right it really looks the part!
Keep up the good work mate!
