    Default Will it Fit!

    Hi Guys,

    Im wanting to purchase rims.

Im looking at 18", 8.5 Wide with original 225/40 tyres fitted onto them (Think original tyres are 7.5" wide, i dont mind if they are stretched a little), my question is though do you know if i will get any scrubbing, or will have to roll the guards? I will be running stock suspension for a while till i save up the $$$ again.

    Much help appreciated!

The tyre will fit. But I will be stretched.
As far as clearance goes, it all depends on the wheel offset.

they will stick out 33mm more than oem wheels.

or you could run 'alot' of camber and go for the stance look.

18x8.5 et30 running 225/40 will fit without any issues. I was running 245/40 on 18x8.5 et38 and lowered springs with no hassles (thanks to a good guard roll in the back). The wheels sat flush with the guards and during cornering would tuck PERFECTLY under it.

If its a 30+ offset then ur gonna have issues with rubbing against the guards, unless you roll them offcourse. I'm on a 45+ offset and i still get ocassional scubbing of the guards on the odd corner or two.

Also keep in mind with inner clearance in respective to your offset. Mine on a 45+ is already pushing the limit that if i went a 235 wide tires i "could" potentially scrub the inner struts on my coilovers.
