Default Fixing up blemishes on the matt black door/window frames 2006 Black MPS

    Hi,

Just a quick one. On the outside section of the door/window frame there is a blemish about 10 cm long in the matt black finish.
Is this painted or a sticker?
Can it be fixed with any product?

    Any help would be appreciated.

Hopefully I have explained this well enough.

    Thanks
    Chris

    Hi Dan

I just tried to take some photos in the garage but they did not turn out very well as its a bit too dark in there. I will take some tomorrow in the day light and upload.

    Thanks
    Chris

Meguires "Gold Class Trim Detailer" is good for dark plastics.
The trim you refer to is a sticker, BTW.

    Yeah, its a sticker.
Mine has a deep scratch in it, back to the colour under it.
I'm embarrassed to say around detailing gods, I fixed mine with permanent black texta. About the right colour, has lasted 3 years so far. And from few steps back you can hardly tell

Impractical to get it black vinyl wrapped?

Not 100% familiar with the area on the 6's that we're talking about here, and with no photos, hard to tell, but if it bothers you and you're after a neat solution, vinyl wrap overlayed could be an option. Wouldn't be expensive

If its badly damaged you can get new stickers, probably cost a million Mazda bucks, or get it vinyl wrapped. Either just a section, or replace the whole frame.
All depends on cost and ability to match the colour

Just a quick update on this one, I went out and bought some Meguires Gold class trim detailer and it has sort of done the trick, you can still the blemish slightly but it doesnt stick out as much now. So thanks for that.

It works a treat for the roof rack rails (do they have a proper name?) and also the wiper arms. (not the blades, obviously).

The Meguires doesn't give that cheap and sleazy look that some other popular protectants impart.
