Thread: SURE Aeros and Sidewinder setup

  1. #1

Default SURE Aeros and Sidewinder setup

I recently have the SURE Aeros and Sidewinder setup in my MPS6 (05). Well, the only problem i faced was reconnecting the factory hose to the Aeros. It was too short and doesn't reach the Aeros. So i ended up buying an insulated hose from Repco for like $20 and then measured it so it would fit into the Aeros.

    Here are the pics:

Anyone with this setup experience this kind of problem? Btw the car drives normal and no problems encountered. Great sound!
It just bothers me that I had couldn't reuse the factory hose. And seems like the guys from the U.S have no issues with this at all.

    Thanks in advance.

Thinking there might be a issue here with the 2005 model. Since in the US, they only have Mazdaspeed 6 in years 2006 and 2007. So I wonder if the 2005 model has a slightly different configuration...Can anyone confirm this?
Might follow this up to SURE.

The 05 and 06 is different, Mark from SURE Motorsports told me when I wanted to buy the "Return" recirculation hose from them.

Oh this is the other hose... I thought you were talking about the BOV recirc hose.

Well you can always replace that hose with breathers

Noob Question: Could you explain what breathers are?

A breather is a very small filter much like pod filter but used to vent oil vapors to the atmosphere instead of back in to the intake system. I would prefer a catch can setup :-)

I had this same issue on the weekend with my 05, I just cut 1 inch off the intake and BOV recirc bit of the sidewinder, now it all lines up, which is another way to fix it if its 6:30 on a saturday evening and repco is closed, and you have a sharpish knife.
