Default That Gen 1 Induction Noise - Want My Gen 2 To Sound The Same, But How ???

    Howdy,

Before I bought my BL MPS 3, I test drove a BK MPS3.

The BL was the better car overall, but the BK had such an excellent induction and exhaust noise. Like a "whooooosh".

While the BL does sound good, I would love for it to sound like the BK. Anyone know if this is achievable ?

    Thanks.

    ^ This

I get a very nice induction noise with my 2XS SRI, even with the airbox

SRI and a TIP would make that noise and even a big of turbo spool.

If you don't want to start modding, you can always use a high flow panel filter (K&N or similar) and cut a big hole on the cold intake side of your airbox...

I get that with an SRI alone

A TIP would just make it louder again

Only if the TIP is made of aluminium, when i switched my OEM TIP for an aftermarket silicone one i lost induction noise.

You sure the BK you tested didn't have a SRI or CAI fitted?... otherwise i don't think there should me any difference from the BK and BL.

Only thing i can think of is the BL does shield a lot of the outside noises.

Silly question time; what's an SRI and a TIP ?

Also, the BK I drove appeared to be stock - just sounded a hell of a lot sweeter !

So basically, we are saying that an SRI and a TIP will improve the aural experience - I'm assuming some extra killer-wattage as well ???

    SRI : Short ram intake
    TIP: Turbo inlet pipe

Those 2 go together with the TIP conectin with the turbo.

    SRI - Short Ram Intake
    TIP - Turbo Inlet Pipe

    *Edit. Beaten by that guy

Short Ram Intake - Its basically a shorter version of a Cold Air Intake, makes servicing the Pod Filter a lot easier

You dont really need a Turbo Inlet Pipe to have that Aural experience. As said before, either SRI or CAI will do fine.

Extra Kw...yeh not a lot...not enuff to go whooooooooahhhh

    Abbreviations.

Generally, look to see if the abbreviation is underlined, then put the cursor over the word. Presto.

    SRI
    FMIC
    CAI

    but not TIP, yet.

A Dump Pipe does a lot for the exhaust note of the Gen II as well. makes it sound a lot chunkier.

The wooshing sound is all intake tho.

    Top stuff !!!

Thanks to all for your help ! Much appreciated.

Now, I guess, it's time to locate a nice SRI.
