Default Fiery new Insignia VXR uncovered

Here's proof that Vauxhall’s white-hot Insignia VXR is nearly ready for the road.

Our spies spotted the fiery Vauxhall testing in Europe, and these undisguised pictures show the performance version of the Insignia strutting its stuff in public for the first time.

As well as a bodykit, the Insignia VXR has been fitted with twin exhausts and Brembo brakes. Insiders have also hinted it could get four-wheel drive for extra grip. Power will come from a twin-turbocharged V6 with more than 300bhp.

Totally dig those rims! Same ones as on the W427 concept I am pretty sure.

    Update:

The upcoming Opel Insignia OPC performance sedan has been spotted testing at the Nurburgring, and the lads at WorldCarFans have got a grab of spy photos.

While the photos show a largely uncovered Insignia OPC, the important bits such as badging and styling detail remain camouflaged for now.

The performance version of the Opel and Vauxhall Insignia sedan – successor in Europe to the Vectra – is expected to develop around 221kW (300hp) from its turbo-charged four-cylinder, and an all-wheel-drive platform is likely to help get that power to the asphalt.

No official date for its unveilling has been set, but Opel is likely to reveal the production Insignia OPC at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

Be interesting to see if that makes it over here badged as a Holden, considering the General is about to release it's own locally built 4-cylinder some time in the future...
