Default Brake Pads for Gen 2 and installer in Melbourne

    I need new brake pads.

Anybody have a suggustion on what to get?

Also anyone know a good shop to install (and fix an issue) these in eastern suburbs of Melbourne?

Any help would be appricated. I need to get this done tomorrow, as my car is really un driveable (due to a grinding in the left front brake area)

I'd say contact GSL Rallysport but if you need them NOW then that won't be much help to you.

It depends what you need to do, race, cruise, do you want low dust, quiet, comfort? There's a big range out there.

I have QFM A1RM's fitted and theyre great at the track, sometimes they squeal like bugger tho. And they make quite a bit of brake dust (Altho, not really any more than the stock pads)

    Hi BlueMPS,

We have in stock Hawk HPS, HP+ & Ceramic's. I could express them down to you.

    Thanks Reedy

and thanks MPS Garage for the offer.

I am just getting it trucked to Ringwood Mazda as it is really is not drive able and I need it mobile.

It will probility mean that the stock pads will go in when they find the issue with the front left.

Will look at different pads later.

Have your pads run out or is there another problem? If you're getting it serviced at all regularly then your pads shouldnt be running out on you like that.

I am thinking it is another issue with the left front brakes.

The left one is making a grinding noise when I am applying them and when releasing the brakes it is holding on.

Maybe something has got court up in there.

At my last service about 2,000 km ago I was told my pads had about 5,000 km left. i have been thinking what to replace them with.

But now that someone needs to look at my brakes, i will have the pads changed as do need changing.

    yep got it home.

It was the first time I was happy to see slow cars on the black spur

Surprisingly I still court up rolling through the corners and not using the brakes.

yep just had the call it is the rotors and pads.

I know the cost for OEM is to expensive and I can get cheaper and better but I need my car, so unfortunately I going to pay for the OEM and get it back working.

at these times I am glad it is a company car and therefore I can at least get the GST back and claim as a tax deduction.

And the cost was coming anyway, so would have had to pay most of it soon anyway. So the only difference really is OEM vs after market.

Traffic was atrocious on the way back with some good going snails

Bummer with the rotors and pads...the crystal balls at the dealers surely needs recalibration

Doesn't smell right to me. I'm 44xxxk. I wouldn't think I'm in need of a rotor change anytime soon. Was there any fault found?

No fault as far as I know. Just that the rotor did not have enough on to machine.

But I think about right, my car does a lot of short trips, in a round the back streets and all that just puts stress on the car and brakes.
