    Default Tyres Size - Aftermarket Rims GenII

    Bit confused and need your help guys!

    im looking at new rims 18x8 45mm

    Im not lowered. Should i go for 225/40 or 235/40.

    I am planning to lower but not quite yet!

    Appreciate any input!

    235 is the right fit for a 8 rim but 225 will fit as well. I would go with 235, with +45 offset you have very little if anything to worry about.

    Yep, go the 235 for sure on the 8" rim.

    stupid me just realized the rims i want are 42mm?!!!

    Does this change things for me??

    Yep. It means your tyres rub more. You'll have 3mm of extra rubber in just the right places to get cut by your gaurds.

    Just the right thread i was looking for! Hey guys, on the weekend i had my new wheels fitted on my gen 2 and the specs were 18X8.5 with a 45+ offset.. Sits very flush and i like it. Problem is i fear i'm now in the market again for another set of tyres, was wondering if i should go 225 or 235s as i think there wasn't that much inner clearance? comes very close to the struts already but my mate reckons on 235 i might scrub the struts.. I AM however also getting coilovers fitted very soon so i dunno?

    look like i mite be ok

    this dude has 18x8 40mm running on stock tyres (225/40/18) with no issues

    Haha i pm-ed you then realised you posted on here. I think u should be sweet. I'm on 8.5 with 225 tyres stretched alittle but still ok
