Gen ii smart turn feature

Hey gius

Got a GEn II, and on the US forums, they are getting the smart turn feature activated which allows you to tap the indicator and it will flash 3 times, suitable for lane changes

My XR5 had this, and if its available in AUS i would like to get it done, esp when my car is at the dealer today

Just called Mazda, They are going to look into this one

They are installing a Bluetooth MIC relocation kit atm for me

OK, they found out the info just as i was picking up the car

So when the parts come in for the bluetooth relocation kit, they will enable the smart indicators then

So end of the week or next week sometime i'd say

So I can go to my dealer and ask them to activate the smart turn feature

Ill ask him exactly what its called he said its in the feature settings they can turn on or off like the auto lock feature

Am I the only one who finds it strange that Mazda equips their cars with these features ("smart turn," "auto lock" etc) and then makes their customers go hunting for them? Sometimes at dealerships who want to play the "we don't know what you're talking about" game? It seems it would have been easier to just give their customers the good stuff... Or am I just being a synical schmuck?

No it seems strange

My theory is the cars come into the country with everything turned off an Mazda Australia program to "Australian Standards"

Maybe they are just lazy and to save time the only choose a select few

Wish I still had contacts at Mazda. Oh well

Hi everyone,
I just happened to see this topic the other day and had my car in for service today.
I asked them about the smart turn feature and they searched but couldn't find it or switch it on.

Did anyone have any success in getting a dealer to activate this feature?

Mine has this feature on standard! 2012

I'm not surprised - apparently it's standard on the CX-5 too.

My dealership service guys said they could do it

I installed LED indicators, so they hyper flash ATM so really no point for me!

Unless u go to the effort of putting the resistors in to circumvent the hyper flash!
