Thread: Rain sensing wipers

  1. #1

    Default Rain sensing wipers

My rain sensing wipers in my GenII Luxury was giving me the problems as regardless of how I set the sensitivity, they reacted the same

I spoke to my Dealership and they told me how to reset them.

    Get in the car
Make sure wipers are in Off mode
Turn the car on to ACC
Turn then to auto and off 5 times

    Off - Auto
    Off - Auto
    Off - Auto
    Off - Auto
    Off - Auto

The wipers will pause for a second and then wipe to confirm they are reset

They now work perfectly and when I put them on the lowest sensitivity they don't wipe a million times when it's spitting!!

Might give that a go myself.

    Thanks Pete

PS turning them to Auto and then off SIX times sets off the nuclear weapon?

Nice ones mate, happens to me often, you start to wonder how 'variable' it really is in instances when the slow setting is fast and the fast is slow (and then vice versa)
Im trying this in a couple of mins when i get outa work.

p.s. you got a like and thanks from me.

Let me know how you go

Once you go thru the sequence. The wipers should wipe once more to confirm its been reset

so i tried it a couple of times now, cant seem to get it to work.

Set the stalk to the upper click (Off) turned car to ACC, cycled to Auto setting (second from top on the stalk) then back to Off then to Auto 4 more times then waited.

The wipers didnt move once during the process.

Should i be in the rain when doing this??

Mmm maybe the car should be turned to "On" rather than "ACC"

I'll can't remember where I read this info, but I'll give it a go again and report back.

    Ok step by step

    Get in car
    Lift Stalk to OFF position
    Push button to ACC
    Push button to ON

    Auto - Off
    Auto - Off
    Auto - Off
    Auto - Off
    Auto - Off
    And the back to Auto

The wipers should not wipe at during this process

There will be a pause and the wipers should wipe once to confirm the reset
