I'm positive many of the wholesalers wouldn't be happy with the loss of sales and having their name dragged down by the reputation of their official distributors

    Good idea,

It would be nice if a Forum Moderator could contact BNR on our (the MPS community) behalf. It might hold a bit more clout. Maybe give them some insight into
the short-commings of MPSG & why so many of the members here have lost faith in them. Im sure BNR wouldnt want to lose any business because of a new
    Distributer they have chosen.
Maybe try and get an idea on their pricing & core structure & find out why MPSG seems to be charging quite a bit more than what current members have paid.......

Any Mods keen on this idea...?????

They need to add mark up. Understandable, but nothing beats going straight to the supplier...

I disagree. They should be getting it at a lower price than consumers (as they take load off the manufacturer) and be able to charge similar prices to the manufacturer. This is how rpmstore and streetunit work which is why they are viable distributors. Unless you're doing extra work (installation or reworking the turbo over the work the manufacturer does) there shouldn't be a price difference.

Thus is why I used to buy from rpmstore as they actually sold things cheaper than the manufacturers.

Unfortunately we can't do that. Please don't see that as taking a side. We are representatives of the club need to remain impartial. Google should be able to help them.

Also, just a general friendly reminder to keep any comments about businesses or other people factual (and without emotion) so as to protect yourself.

From $1230 Stage 1 to $1470 Stage III ain't a bad jump to be honest...

Suppose there'd be a few extra bits to do for the III though ending up in a bigger cost.

I thought that highlighted that the stage1 is overpriced. There's little or no cost benefit in going BNR at these prices.

    got a reply:
You can purchase the turbochargers through them or direct. Either way you want to do it.
looks like it's still fine to deal with them directly

Odd. I got my replies within an hour - until he went to sleep at least, then I got it the next morning.

Unrelated: I went the Stage 1, because I wanted a straight drop in, higher reliability, with close to stock feel as possible - that, virtually no lag, smooth boost delivery.

The BNR Stage 1 looked ideal, because it costs barely more than a rebuild, less likely to leak, doesn't have the boost fall off at redline, but otherwise doesn't produce much more power than stock.

My wife drives my car, and since she's never driven a car with a turbo before, so I'm worried about her pressing her foot down, finding no power, and pressing harder... and 98% of the time these days anyway, I drive pretty sedately, and like smooth power delivery

The boost falloff at redline is more to do with the stock tune than the turbo.

Isn't it recommended to run a tune with these bolt on applications?? Just a curious thought..

Ok just looked at MPS Garages page and they are selling the old stage 1 for 1490, and i just received an email from Byran saying: He will deliver to Australia, and it seems that the new Stage 1 is what the stage 2 was i think. So $900 for the turbo 130 shipping and core is 150 so its about 1150 shipped. Stage 3 is an extra 250 i think now.

I'm still looking at my options, obviously i like the GTX2867R from edge but the extra cost of it plus support parts (inlet and ebc) and installation (roughly 600) and retune (300) is costing about $2,700, compared to installing the BNR myself and the lack retuning needed, total cost would be about the half the price. Obviously performance is huge gain in the AP kit.

Other options is that ATP in melbourne is selling a reworked K04 with stock internals for 1450... and another ebay store is selling the OEM Turbo for $500. If money isn't an issue GTX would be happening but since money is always an issue, i think the BNR is the front runner, thoughts?
