Default Gaming Headsets/Ear pieces what do you use?

Hey all, im about to buy a headset but not sure what to get doesn't anyone on here use something they can recommend?

Im happy paying up to $65 but I don't want to keep changing the settings on the ps3 between headset audio and HDMI audio...

I also would prefer wired connection.

    Thanks all
    James

TurltleBeach is the bomb. If you get some of the px21 (it's only stereo but) they should be like ~70 bucks (shop around) and they have stereo voice chat. I've got the same as Jrbris for the xbox and they are really sweet... these are my PC Pair Wireless Gaming Headset G930 but i still use the px21 as they feel ligher on your head.

I got sick of going through a succession of cheap headsets for my PC gaming and ended up with a set of Audio Technica ATH-AD700 cans.

Had them now for about 2 years and love them to bits

My mates and i all use the Astro A40 7.1 wireless system. Its about $280US +PS3 chat cable +postage but its great.

Also there is an option on PS3 to have audio out HDMI and optical at the same time so no need to chage settings if you dont want to use the headset.

And Toddy likes stabbing me in the back and our other mate T-bags so I gotta have the Astro's to hear em coming and Claymore that s*** up!

Astro's are probably on the top end of the market as far as gaming headsets go

You wouldn't get stabbed in the back if you were actually MOVING Andre

I have the Sharkoon X-Tatic 5.1 surround headphones + mic, good sound, optical input, and they have an inbuilt DRC switch, so you can hear those footsteps sneaking up behind you, Only hassle is when I switch back to my home theatre (HDMI), I need to change the settings in the PS menu, cant run both optical & HDMI at the same time in multi channel, the cable can also be a bit annoying, especially when I have the steering wheel plugged in.

The turtle beach PX5 is very tempting for its wireless capabilities.

Ok since most of the suggestions above were expensive for just once a week gaming, (expensive but o so cool) i think im going to try the Logitech G330 connect via USB and can still you Stereo's Audio and only thing coming from headset is other chatter.

I got a logitech headset...I think its a clearchat or similar. was maybe $30. It's a nightmare. Way too tight on ears! I can't wear it for more than 15mins or I get totally ruptured

I love Logitech gear, but strangely enough tend to naturally avoid their headsets

Though the rest of my setup resembles a Logitech showroom lol

A bit off topic, but here is a great place to get Logitech gear pretty cheap,

    Logitech Shop Australia | LogitechShop

they often run specials on bulk buy items, I picked up a G27 wheel for my PS3 a few weeks ago for $299, and they have a good range of other peripherals on the cheaper side.

The only thing is delivery, my G27 wheel arrived next day, however my M950 performance mouse, a steal at $55, took over week to arrive.
