    Clutch still engaging?

Usual failures are shift cable as mentioned, or clutch.
Plenty with crappy gearboxes, but Havnt heard of many broken gearboxes.

i had a smiliar scare on the last cruise, the gear knob was moving freely to anywhere it pleased, and the car was stuck in neutral... the gear selector cable came off the ball joint, thank god it was just a simple pop back on 10 second fix lol

Thanks for the suggestions guys Gear selector cable is still attached( hasnt come off the ball). I can still select gears & the pedal & gear stick seem to be working fine. Its just when i let the clutch out, theres a wierd grinding noise in any gear & the can wont move.
I think if it was a clutch, the pedal would feel different & i also thoght that if the cable was off i couldnt select a gear .

    Will see what Mazda say.............

    Ok....
    Got the car back today.
Here's whats on the Repair Order-
Checked & confirmed RH driveshaft has come partially out of transmission and has damaged
    driveshaft splines.
    Replace driveshaft & r/test OK.

No dramas, no fuss. Thanks to Maitland City Motor Group.
Would hate to have seen the price if it wasnt covered by warranty though.......
