its quite simple process and i did my one myself.
4 bolts on the old oil housing then there is one directly above which you cant see and can only feel for - you need to keep the 4 on to undo the top. and I think its a different size from the 4 bolts.
i used ozmazda's how to on a sp23 but can't seem to find it again (haven't really looked) only difference is we have the bolt on top for our oil cooler.

    try these guides

http://www.torontomazda3.ca/forum/sh...rsion-Pro-tips - but has no pics

http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...te-how-118433/ - seems more complicated than it is but has pics

Does anyone know the best place to get one of the cup style oil filter tools?
I am asusming you can get them on ebay but does anyone know if mazda or general auto parts stores (such as autobarn/repco) supply them?

    Cheers

Ebay is by miles cheapest. Any spare parts place will or should have them, or at least be able to get one.

And Mazda, i'm sure they will gladly sell you one.
    Have you got kids?
    You may need one

    Well,
Mazda do not sell them they referred me to bursons who only sell a full kit with several sizes for $150.
Autobarn and supercheap dont sell them either.

It seems ebay may be the way to go unless someone else knows another place?

From memory I paid about $40 for the removal tool, filter, and 2 ring seals, including postage... From eBay that is.
