Does anyone understand how the folder system works on the audio system in the Gen II?

Yes it is in the manual but it made no sense. Might try the mashing the buttons approach.

Seriously though, what's the drama? Are you not sure how to select them?

If it's anything like the gen 1, it goes in alphanumerical order of the folders...

Do you mean the folder button in relation to using an IPod? If so, that button doesn't mean folders. It's an UP or DOWN button for which ever you chose on the DISC button, whether that be ARTISTS, ALBUMS, SONGS, GENRES, COMPOSERS, PLAYLISTS.

Correct me, but the Folder option refers to when you are using MP3 media.

I've never used them, but if I did I'd probably just shout at them until they did my bidding

I use it with burnt CDs. You have to burn the cd with folders on it I think, and it has to be mp3 format.

For example, I have a cd for a particular band, and it has 3 folders on it. In each folder I have put an album, so 10-15 songs from that band.

Put it in, play it, it goes to the first album and plays from that.

If I want to play a different album, I click the folder button and it goes to the next album.

    Simple.....ish

    Exactly what Lachlan said ^^..
It's for use with burnt MP3 CDs with multiple albums..
Up and Down on the buttons navigates from folder to folder (album to album)
    Too easy

Say you have folders 1,2,3 and in folder 1, you have 2 sub folders, a,b

Hitting the next folder option will go 1a, 1b, 2, 3

I still think shouting at it is the key

Hmmm.... Must be Those weird "overseas" people.

Actually it was/is people who download tracks of in the form of Mp3's into folders on their PC's. They then copy it to disk and play it in the car. Very useful, a good feature.

Yeah pretty hand when you have like 8 albums or 4 or 5 Essential Mixes burnt to CD.

In some cases its easier to burn the mixes than it is to use my phone with win amp.
