    Default Timing Chain at 74,000k

    Hey guys,

I have a rattle at start up that sounds like it's getting worse. I believe that the timing chain has come loose at 74,000k anyone else had this problem?? and does anyone know a good place for repairs that are not over priced??

    Thanks

    Trent

ID say VVT.. go into ur mazda dealer tell them you saw the offical annoncement by mazda about the faulty VVT's and see what they say.
Many want Power not many hold it long.........

agreed, unlikely to be chain, very likely to be VVT actuator.

wonder how many vehicles overall this issue affected?

Or it could be the pre tensioner for the timing chain. I had that done under warranty. There is a TSB but I think only for USDM vehicles.
