Hi guys,

You may recall from one of my earlier posts that I was going to take a spell from modifying my car and start enjoying it, but the guys from MRT found a few more things they knew would work well when bolted on. So last week I added stainless steel brake lines and a rear camber correction kit.

The stainless lines are a brand new part from MRT as the MPS here in Oz has unique fittings so all the hoses and ends had to be custom made and then tested to comply with local ADR laws. The result is a firmer peddle when the car is pushed as they reduce the amount of flex. Apparently this is common in the Mazda rubber lines. They also bled the brake system as part of the install and fitted fresh ELF racing brake fluid to reduce the amount of water vapour from the atmosphere that absorbs into the brake fluid.

When I lowered the car, i noticed quite a bit of negative camber on the rear wheels. There wasn’t enough adjustment from the OEM parts so I had this correction kit installed to reduce the amount of inside tyre wear. This also increased grip as the tyre sits better at the correct angle on the road.

Once the car was finished it spent Friday at Wakefield Park at an MRT track day where Brett and young gun Daniel Day put it through its paces. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make it but the feedback was encouraging so I’m looking forward to getting it out there myself! MRT next have a track day at Marulan on the 12th of August. It would be great if a few more of you came along! See the MRT website for more details http://www.mrtperformance.com.au/events/track-days/about-track-days

P.S. For those who like the details, its currently running MRT stainless lines with ELF HTX 115 brake fluid. A Whiteline rear camber kit and Mobil 1 15W-50 engine oil.
