Saw one being taken for a test drive at Brad Garlic Ford at Top Ryde. Should have waited till he caught up.

Yeah us Ford owners don't tend to use the bigger words to express how we think
I totally understand the RS heritage and that fact that this one does seem to be a little 'hoonish'.
I do agree with you that the seats are terrible, and that fact that I don;t thik that people would think of it as a daily driver, especially on our country roads. Around the big round abouts and the 'special' Canberra roads, it would be a dream.
Look I didn't mean to offend anybody. As you said, it would be boring, and am glad that you have had a Mk1 Escort...
woudl I buy one? Not new, thats for sure, but if there are any left and on the second hand market in twoyears time, then I will be snapping one up (well depending on the price tag of course)
Seats hard to get in and out?
They are meant to keep you nice a tight whenyou feel like throwing the car around a corner.
As you get older the flexibility dimishes, which is the reason why I didn't option the Recaros on my R and the standard seats had enough support unlike the MPS 6! The few times I threw that around the track I ended up with bruised ribs from hitting the drivers door arm rest!!!
R36 - Just like an MPS6 except with a growly V6
Without them you would still slide from your seat
For daily or even regular use, they aren't practical.
They feel like you need to get out via the windscreen BMW isetta style, or dropped in through the sun roof.
They are a nice car, but I just think they are too over the too styled for my liking, and they would wear thin when used daily.
And a don't think the interior is of a $60,000 car quality. And I think the same of evo's and STi's. And if they made a $60,000 MPS 3 AWD and it had the standard 3 interior, I'd say the same thing about it too.
I'd rather go for a drive in a focus RS, but I'd rather own a mps (or golf for the money)
I kinda agree on the price tag but i see them as a boy toy not a daily, and if i had the chance to grab one I would!
Just got my lastest Motor Mag in the post today just reading the article on page 25 & 26 on the RS Focus...
Saw a Green one in Brisbane today parked at a business near the Gabba. I only got a glimpse of its rear end, the colour was very pastel looking. Not as dark as I thought it would have been from the pics.
my mate had one green one in his ford dealership...and it was already sold 2 weeks before he got it in (thus I could not take it for a test drive or even get in it and im friends with the dealer principal!).....from the looks of it, it looks sporty, well "ford" built/finished, big breaks & wheels...looks like it would be fun to drive and go like a cut cat ...but im not sure id spend the $65+K on it ...then again thats what the new WRX STi is worth.
I just spotted a green rs focus in Redlynch Cairns I agree Linda the colour is not what I expected either Hoping the owner lives in Redlynch & wants to come out & play . My local Ford dealer tells me all 315 rs's are pre sold As I said previously I will stick to the Mps the focus rs's are all sold any way

THE COLON FILESComing soon
Interesting: A bloke up the road from my place just got one, he bought it for the RS heritage etc, but told me my MPS was a much nicer car... He also felt disapointed with the performnce of the RS. Lacks fun factor its specs should deliver in his opinion.
I haven't been in it, given what he says I might not bother.
Just thought that was interesting...
Spotted a Green one in Toowoomba today. Looks like an awesome car but didn't like the green much. Might look better in other colours.
Also thought the green was not as it seems in the photos, i thought it looked more like the falcon green by the photos. Which i think would be better.
Not a fan of bright green anyway.
They aren't all pre sold.
One still sitting here at the dealer.
And my brother saw one at his local dealer in Temora (hole of a little town in the middle of nowhere)
Dealer there said he ordered one because he knew it would be in demand so thought he could do a good swap with another dealer.
They (ford) did the old trick of saying they are all sold, but what they really mean is that they are all dealer allocated
Welll as always....there is always better to come along.
Just put a post up about the new 3dr Astra...and the VXR model has been announced to have more power than the RS from a 2.0L Turbo
And a better interior.
Ford Focus RS is basically the XR5 interior with different seats....major dislike.
Happy Motoring
