Been a while since I've posted here. New update, went to the drags, 13.6 best ET. New front splitter (eBay special), slotted rotors front and rear, AEM wideband...
Another update: spent a couple of nights with the tools and my mig welder, and custom fitted/fabricated a Magnaflow 100cpi cat into the stock secondary cat location following the original cat's...
Just had an awesome easter weekend, heading to Luddenham Raceway with some mates on the Saturday. The Mazda performed very well for the first three sessions, then would refuse to make boost past...
Quick little update. Welded on some new exhaust tips and fabbed up a fire extinguisher...
Compression test completed today with 3600km's on the engine since build.
Cyl 1 - 170psi, Cyl 2 - 170psi, Cyl 3 - 175psi, Cyl 4 - 175psi
Spark plugs also look good. Sooty, but...
Spent some time this weekend shaping and bending sheet metal into dress up parts for the engine bay. Very pleased with the...

Doesn't seem to be much activity on this thread but I'll continue posting anyways.
Checked cam lobes today after 2500k's since the rebuild and dual valve springs. Still looking fresh as a daisy.

-Custom 3 inch intake installed (leftover intercooler piping from a mates xr6t lol)
-Ecu relocation

That's true, I should really add a check valve close to the manifold as an extra precautionary against boost entering the crankcase. Currently the catch can gets pressurized under boost.

Another 1m length of 5/8" hose was clamped to the original barb on the intake manifold and run to the upper catch can port. This completed the loop to catch oil vapour from the pcv to the intake...
I then located the 5/8" hose running from the PCV valve to the intake manifold. It was a tight squeeze, but managed to remove the intake manifold end using a small set of vice grips. I left the PCV...
Decided to install a catch can after the engine build was complete, currently running 22 psi. Went for a cheaper ebay option (knock it if you will), instead of the more popular Damond/Corksport...
A few weeks now since getting the car back and have sorted out a couple of smallish issues. Was overboosting to 24psi when targetting 20psi. Solved that with a new Cobb EBCS. Fabbed up a filter cover...
So far so good with the ARP head studs. Back on the road with just over 1000 k's and loving it. Clutch chatter is a but odd but something i'll have to get used to. Looking to enjoy the car bit more...

My dyno shop have the engine ready to go into it's waiting engine...
Turbo is fine and bore was fine as well. I went with Manley 88mm pistons (+0.5mm oversize) so the bore needed to be machined anyway. I agree, it doesn't take long for valves, pistons etc. to...
I'm not 100% sure what cause the valve to burn out, but my best hypothesis is that the engine went lean and detonation occurred in cylinder 2 and 4. The spark plugs were at the stock heat range, and...
Found out from the engine builder/machinist that the engine is almost ready.... Getting keen!!!

I bought my MPS in Jan 2018 after owning a BK N/A sedan (seemed like the next logical step). The car was 100% stock,...
