Find a place that does it using blast cleaning. That's the method I used. They will come out spotless and you will feel a big difference in smoothness and low-down response

Rocker cover needs to be removed to inspect the lobes.

The disclaimer regarding the wear of the cam follower (not cam lobe) does not relate to us as our cam follower is a better construction than the vw's. I think you guys may be confusing the two.

Who installed it and was the whole pump stripped down and cleaned?

I have the CP-E CAI and TIP as well. Mine is joined by a 30 degree (or so) silicone hose that came with it. You are missing that hose.

I've noticed this as well. It seems when you ride the clutch a bit it encourages it. I wouldn't be richening your tune on decel though, that's pretty stupid unless you have an actual benefit from it....

Yep that's exactly right. Basically the same viscosity oils won't always be compatible. If they were this thread wouldn't exist lol

It does but that's besides the point. If an oil does not meet the appropriate spec requirements of a gearbox then it is not recommended. That's why I'm saying use Nulon 75w85 and not Nulon 75w90.

yes and no. The higher number is for added protection but with some oil brands it can also mean the difference between the oil being compatible or not.

For example, I use Nulon fully synthetic...
