To me it looks like the American ms3's run 2 resonators and a small rear muffler all from the cat back Instead of resonator, chamber muffler and small muffler for the Mps.

gti had a built in air straightener in the afm housing it was a silver square honey comb peice that u could take out of the afm?

Notice any difference in performance? I'm thinking of getting the k&n typhoon but heard sri's/cai's can make your car run lean/rich because the maf sensor gets incorrect readings if not tuned....

Nope but I did have a mk1 Suzuki Gti (750kg) was the lightest car I ever owned. I love golfs though :woot:I also had a starlet gt turbo and then Mx5 and now my MPS :) love cars!!!

Definitely MK1 FTW. Less weight the better in my opinion but I have to admit I do love the exterior of the MK2

I was doing some searching on the net in regards to Mazda 3 Mps engine internals and even though the engines are the same in both generations apparently the gen 2 has a stronger bottom end....

I heard the Gen 2 has stronger engine internals than the gen 1 which is good and I also like the styling of the gen 2 but I love the seats in my gen 1 better lol
