If you have the stock airbox the install instructions for the JBR SSP say you have to raise it, made me think the same might occur even with an aftermarket airbox.

I toyed around with getting an SSP for ages, but I was always worried about the length of the ball stud making clearance issues with my CorkSport airbox (the JBR one for exmaple) or actually making...
Swap out the oil for some Castrol Syntrans and then adjust your shifter cable following this guide (I moved it slightly up the shaft): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duIbdq-MQtw
I got the DBA T2 rotors with the Remsa pads. Nice setup and probably half the price of OEM but apparently the QFM pads produce less dust so I'll probably go for those next time. Got them off Brakes...
Might be worthwhile checking all of your mounts. It might have just been a coincidence re: oil change and clunking. Failing that, drain it out and if something has let go, you should see glitter...
Gen 1 or 2? I would check the oil level in the gearbox after you changed it and if it is OK, swap it out again for something that is full synthetic like Castrol Syntrans. Failing that, something...
Timing chain I wouldn't have anyone do other than an actual Mazda dealer, or a shop that has done one successfully before on the MZR. Plenty of 'good' and 'performance' shops have blown motors...
That's a very tidy 6MPS.
At $580 for just the fronts, you would have to be crazy to go with OEM. And as someone who has had both FSD and Bilstein B8, at this price point, Bilstein all the way. Ride isn't quite as good, but...
Congrats mate!
It's been a pretty good resource for me for the last few years. The only suggestion would be for the 'What's New' link - to display threads that have been recently updated, rather than new individual...
At least they troubleshooted it properly for you, which is getting disturbingly uncommon these days! But good outcome all the same.
Not at all. You only really touch the down pipe and maybe mid pipe when installing a turbo I would imagine. The exhaust tips on my Gen 2 don't sit exactly the same either. Chances are, they were...
Doubt that the exhaust tip is related (would just be a slightly stretched exhaust hanger up the back) and it seems like it is coming from the engine bay, but remember, sound can travel so best get...
Downpipe bolts nice and tight?
Yep, AFRs looked on point, HPFP actual above 1600, etc.
Sure did.
FYI I put the old ones back in after the misfiring.
Yeah the old ones were gapped at 0.7mm and hadn't been in the car a huge length of time. It just seemed a bit co-incidental that all this happens after a normal plug swap. A station near by has...
Hi guys.
So after having some NGK Iridium IX plugs installed by a shop and getting some misfiring and high KR, I ended up putting the old plugs back in myself (they looked pretty good) and doing...
I'll head down to Supercheap first thing and get it done, hopefully it will be alright by the afternoon. I'll leave it in the sun, might speed up the drying a bit
Thanks mate. Well, considering I don't have a gasket there at all, I suspect a fair amount of air is leaking out. Thanks for the pro-tip re: liquid gasket - I'll grab some tomorrow. Any chance of it...
Cheers Lachlan. Was the leak bad when you had the problem with the seating of your cold pipe? Did it show in AP logs/bum dyno etc.?
Hi guys.
So after having some plugs installed yesterday and getting some bad KR today, I pulled the plugs I had installed yesterday to see if they gaped them properly (they did not, they were...
