Pressure plate needs to get balanced too Shane
Mine needed a bit more than a few mm off the stud to fit my balance shaft unfortunately.
Ended up having to notch out the casting of the balance shaft to clear the studs. But it fits now :)

Buy an AP or VT hire a dyno for a couple hours .
Sorted
To be fair - when i did the BSD I had 80Duro rear mounts and 80Duro side mounts, i didn't try put the OEM mount back in for comparison. Plus the idle vibes weren't that bad (although definitely bad...
Great stuff rob :)
Looking forward to hearing your impressions of the BSD
Pretty lucky on the main studs, mine needed about 3-4mm taken off and needed to use a thinner washer to clear the balance shaft - did you have to take anything from the nut for it to clear?
Yep :)
Our engines lift heads all the time with big power and constant abuse thats why i use L19's for head studs - but luckily the main studs hold the crank girdle on and the ARP's are plenty enough for...
I know , thats why i'm gonna try this first then if it doesn't work, i'll look into alternative options.
I was thinking of using 6/8 ARP's then 2 OEM's in that particular place. Will see how i go with this route first.
My ARP's had no chance to clear the balance shaft - had to cut 3mm off , tap the thread down further so it can get to the bottom of the block and use a thinner washer on the top so the balance shaft...
This getting way out of hand
No idea what your problem with me is Sam, i have never spoken to you outside of this forum nor worked on your car, don't you have anything else better to do than to...
Welcome mate; keep an eye on that Luke character; he lives up there too and seems to sniff out the MPS owners around town
Passing comments combined with personal research mostly ;)
Firs they weigh the rods and pistons and ensure they are all the same weight and even weight distribution top - bottom - left - right.
then they spin each rotational part individually to make sure...
Yeah it's a good idea, but keep in mind that the spacer is post-trottle body and will require a solenoid for correct operation of the nozzle.
I've tried check valves with up to 16psi cracking...
Chinese eBay 8" model

I have been waiting for the android model for the last 12 months!
Couldn't wait any longer and got this one:
Works very very well highly recommended!

correct - the only truly balanced 4cyl is the boxer engine.
also - my engine did have individual rotational balancing and the balance shaft can't be attached when balancing the crank.
I have...
I'm about to order some engine internals for some other members from SP63, if your keen I can chuck your stuff in the order aswell .
:( looks like rings or lands are no good - is your coolant discoloured or levels dropping? may be head gasket failure or head lift around 2-3-4 aswell?
Shame to hear Reedy :(
What were the results of the compression test? and did they do both dry and wet? also where did the leakdown point to the fault to be? intake/exhaust valves or rings?
I...
bozjet can sort you out I'm sure
your ECU will always run the timing map which contains the lowest values, you're probly running a different map in the "knocking" table i imagine.
make all your timing maps identical and it will...
the 6 barely has any torque and boost restrictions in 1st and 2nd, something like 1.58 load in 1st/2nd vs 1.68 load in 3rd-6th which is really not much when compared to the 3's, so likely wont make...
