Bump.
What's the consensus for the quietest tyre? I live in a regional town but we have a Bridgestone dealer and a Dunlop dealer that can also source Michelin, BF Goodrich, Dunlop and Goodyear.
...
Yeah so far so good.
New plugs and I stretched the coil springs a bit.
I don't think there was anything wrong with the old plugs, they were just black but no cracks in porcelain or anything....
Been giving the car hell over the past few days, and still no sign of the issues.
Deliberately leaving rpm's low and then accelerating, power delivery smooth as.
Hopefully this is a permanent...
This is what the original plugs looked like.
Is it normal for 30,000km old plugs to be this black? I know that stock this engine runs rich but damn. The plugs were gapped to 0.65 mm. I gapped the...
pretty sure they are iridium plugs. Came in the light gray box with laser iridium on it. Ultra skinny electrodes too.
part number directly from mazda handbook and also on ngk website for a bl mps....
The handbook ones, ngk siltr6a7g.
I bit the bullet and paid more than I should have but I wanted it sorted that day lol.
Pulled the plugs on Friday and they were black black but no cracks. Threw a new set in for the hell of it and stretched the coil springs and so far so good.
I bought plugs on Friday at repco. Just told old mate behind the counter they are for a bl mps.
He came back with a pack of 4 siltr6a7g which matched the mazda handbook.
$119 for 4 plugs is...
Damn it, it happened again today after a few months of flawless running on 98.
Can you guys recommend a elm327 obd reader that's compatible with android? There are heaps on ebay at the moment.
Fark it, happened again today. Been running 98 for a while now.
Will buy a reader from Ebay and go from there.
haveheart,
I didn't see your reply until I got a pm notification, apologies for that.
I'm going to hang onto it for the moment and experiment with different weights.
Yeah chuck a video up.
My 70 duro was bad. Was ok and no vibes once the car was up and running, but taking off from lights and low speed traffic crawling was really painful. Considering that...
MSF - I tend to take everything with a grain of salt on that forum hehe.
Jeez I do that all the time - i usually let the torque do most of the work.
Never heard of not going full throttle until a certain rpm?
Picked car up from workshop, fuel pump good and everything else good.
They put it down to bad fuel and ecu pulling timing. Recommended 98 always.
Just picked car up from workshop - all parameters normal.
They put it down to dodgy fuel and the ecu pulling timing.
I haven't experienced it again, and am on another tank of 98.
I had (still have in the shed) a jbr 70 duro rmm.
Vibed like crazy, settled down a little bit but still too much for dd city driving. Took it out and reinstalled it with my deflecting beam torque...
Yeah its a great mount. I just wandered down to the local hardware store, mount in hand, and picked up a bolt to suit.
Edit - this was my review of it, and the bolt to look out for.
Yeah that's true, but on the other hand I also have a old HSV VP that developed its first suspension knock at 140,000km!
Ok well its booked in week after next for a service and I'll get the workshop to check it out.
Weak as piss if its suspension related in less than 30,000km.
Really, so soon?
2011 Gen 2 MPS, totally stock apart from Ford E-focus rmm.
27,000km.
Get this front end knock on the driver's side when accelerating hard whilst turning right, or reversing out of driveways...
I have the e-focus rmm and a jbr 70 duro rmm.
haveheart, damn it I was hoping for good news haha.
I found with my jbr ssp if you set the throw at max reduction (40%) it still clunks, at 20% reduction the clunking is reduced. I took mine out...
