Ask them if they will replace it with a GT28/30 or T3/4 turbo :)
How long has it been? I'm wondering about mine too...thought I was seeing things...
must be the better part of a year. Decided to let the car idle for 5 mins this morning b4 heading off to work. Noticed fairly strong smoke. It was fine on the way to work but there is a feeling of deju vu.Quote:

...sometimes the seals go... and sometimes they smoke..
a few of the guys have had issues with their turbos... ive seen one in action (Blackbetty) when i was in canberra last.
hopefully this has been rectified in the current revision.

There is a thread on this forum from the USA where Mazda USA admit the PCV valve is weak and allows oil to enter the turbo, damaging the seals. A fix is under development, but as I said an oil catch can will stop it happening.
In the meantime go back to mazda and ask for another turbo.
