I'm assuming your looking to import something due our almost non existent local aftermarket parts availability? Have you considered getting something custom made? Woolf mufflers off dominion rd extension are the business with exhaust systems in auckland. I've had many exhausts built by them from 304 stainless and mild steel and they are always stellar. Considering the landed price on most things imported ex US is crazy, it may well be worth a visit. Free quotes of course. Most recently Woolf did my second cat and muffler delete.
Thanks for that.. Probably go make a visit on next day off.. My mate from Hamilton keeps on at me to go visit coby exhausts.. They do make a nice sound but always seem a bit bogan to me
Coby is soooo old school my friend, they used to put those on very early aussie cars like sunbirds and falcons from the 70's, if you want something off the shelf and local the only other option I can think of is redline performance in penrose which stock Remus and xforce Australia systems (both good systems IMHO) they don't keep all types there but can usually get you anything from those manufacturers pretty quick and not overly inflated in price either.
What's the reason for TBE? If it's sound then CPE , Cobb,if it's power then a DP will be suffice as the restriction in in the front half of the Zorst
Good point chef! If it's merely sound you want my second cat and muffler delete did it for me. But I don't like things exceptionally loud, I intend to put a hi flow catted down pipe at a later stage and that's pretty much it for the exhaust sideQuote:

im guessing that having a cat in at the cost of a few hp will be better in the long run to avoid leaks..

Cat less in Australia is a huge fine,cpe and Cobb will be loud,
There really isn't huge gains to be had by going from a DP to full TBE, IMOA do the DP with 1 cat and remove centre resonator and car will sound mean and you will have some $ left in pocket
But if you have money to burn the cpe TBE will be awesome
So what did you end up doing? im looking at an exhaust myself and came across these guys in brissy Products-Custom Exhaust Specialists-CES Scroll to the bottom for the mps front system im looking at. $1299 for stainless twin dump design, $200 less for mild steel, $150 less for single dump. I originally emailed them about an air intake(see bottom of this page New Items-Custom Exhaust Specialists-CES ) but they seem very knowledgable on the MPS. il paste in their response to me:Quote:

Not meaning to hijack this thread, but is there any real advantage of going stainless steel over mild steel for an axle back exhaust?
Im thinking about getting one customer made, and the price difference is almost double ($450 for axle back mild steel, $850 for stainless steel).
Mufflers would be custom made.
I went aluminised plain steel for axle back. My car is 7 years old and this should last at least another seven. It was only $70 extra to go SS from 2XS in Brisbane.
My axle back single muffler and tip came in under $400.

@rocker21 have a read of the thread above and perhaps do some more research on both DPs and intakes (lots of info here and on MSF). Not many people on here are running CES stuff anymore an there are certainly other places I would look first (2xs, corksport, htp).

Gen2 has a good 2.5" oem system with mandral bends, just gut/test pipe, decat res, and get a generic 3" dual exit muffler axle back. Reflash stage 2 be done with it.
