I think Rayd has this setup now. However I thought stock MPS wheels were 17"... 235/40/18 is what I ran / run on my GEN2 / RX8 wheels. If you have 235/40/18 it is just an excuse to update the rims on the car :)

235 should be on a 7.5 or 8" wide wheel, not 7" that the stockers are

Mine are the 7.5" on the front and 8.5" on the rear both have 235 on them, the 235 fit perfect on the 7.5" the side wall is pretty much a perfect 90 degrees, i wouldn't run them on the stock 7" wheels maybe do 225/40/18 on the stock 7" rim. FWIW the 8.5" look almost stretched with 235's on them.
Lowest you can go on the stock 6 is 225/45/18 as recommended by 99% of tyre companies .
in for a world of hurt if you exceed the tyre manufacture recommendations
they fit. but it will be a shitty fit and will lower performance.
ahh that sucks :(
Sounds like an excuse for new rims to me :)
haha i wish, might try and see if i can swap them for some 225's
