Hey guys
I have a small issue, my tyres are scrubbing on the inner of my wheeh when I turn full lock and I cant for the life of me figure out why.
The car is standard as far as I know, the only thing that be different from standatd is that I have perilli pzeros fitted but they r 215/45 and I think that is that normal size so I'm lkinda stumped.
Any one got any ideas??

Could you provide more details, preferably with pics?
is it just on the one side???? if so then when your last wheel alignment was done they weren't very good at it and set it off center, if its hitting both side's then you have a major problem and i'd take it to a specialist because you will more then likely need a new power steering rack
lets not get hysteric just yet...probably need a bit more information because i don't really understand the symptoms you're describing - tyres scrubbing on the inner of your wheels??? makes not a lot of sense. Maybe tyres scrubbing on inner gaurds? Where abouts? at the front? back? which edge of the tyre?
but firstly - yes - they tyre sizes are correct. So that's good. (I know that Pirelli's run wide - but i doubt the clearance is tight enough for that to be a factor.)
I'd be looking at getting a wheel alignment done as your first and potentially cheapest solution. Tell them what is happening - and that it could be a case of too much negative caster - causing the tyres to hit on the front of the gaurd liners. Or too much positive caster and they'll hit on the rear.
Definately more info needed.

Firstly I would jack the car up and check the ball joint. Hand at left and right side of tyre and rock it back and forth. See if any movement. May aswell check bearings while your at it by holding top and bottom then rock.
If you don't notice anything, go to a suspension specialist. Not bob Jane or some other franchise tyre fitter.

So its both sides and the inner edge if the tyre is hitting the inner plastics of the guards.
Now this is happening on both sides but its only on the left when I'm full lock left and only on the right when I'm full lock right
The car feels good to drive, everything feels tight and as it should for a non-modded car.
I'll try and get some pics up by the end of the day.

Take it a wheel alignment shop and ask them to check the settings. Suggest it need more negative caster dialled in.
Added bonus is that it will make the car track nicer as well.
Is this a car you have recently purchased or had for a while?

I also don't think caster will have enough effect to make the tyres scrub. There is a fair about of room in there with stock wheels and tyres.
Unless something is VERY wrong.

Sitting and thinking.
Get someone to look at if you have a bent steering arm.
The car will drive normally, handle normally, even wheel align normally, but will adjust your "toe out in turns" which could cause the issue.
Basically as the wheel turns from left to right, both wheels don't turn at the same angle. This is toe out in turns. What essentially "could" be happening is because of a bent steering arm the wheel turns too far, causing it to hit
I have had the car about 3 weeks now. Um and I have had a listen and there is a slight 'wherring' noise when I turn left or right. I'm a bit worried :(

Whirring when you hold it at full lock is normal. But don't do it, your p'steering pump hates it.
Whirring across the whole steering range is bad - check your fluid levels. Then check for leaks.
I doubt this is related to your initial problem though. Most likely just your paranoia. Just book it in for a wheel alignment already!
If something is bent or amiss in the settings, they will certainly pick it up wen they try to line it up.
A tank of petrol costs more, and if it really is badly out, you can chew a set of front tires out in under 1000kms. It's cheap insurance in any event.

Did you buy the car privately or from a dealer?
If from a dealer, hit them up.
Not allowed to sell an unroadworthy vehicle. Technically if a wheel hits anything its unroadworthy.
Worth a shot, could save you a few dollars

Stick it on a hoist (with wheels loaded as normal) and get underneath to see what is rubbing where and if there is any suspension/steering arm damage. It might even be something as simple as the limit studs may have been played with. All the other suggestions here (e.g bd581) are valid too. If you are not mechanically competent, then get some who is to do it, as well as check alignments and stops.
If you bought it privately, God knows what the previous owner might have been playing with, or hit.
This is why I sometimes really squirm at some of the things I see folks here proposing doing to their cars too. Sooner or later, some guy is going to be like you, and finding out too late that some mechanical bastardry has been perpetrated on their new pride and joy. Bear it in mind guys.
