Has anyone removed the climate control panel?

I have 'carbonfibred' some of the bits and pieces in my car. Have done the door grips, the red dot trim above the glove box and the other side where the DSC and AFS controls are and have also done the silver bit around the gear stick and up to the base of the climate control panel. To do this I removed all the parts so that the wrap goes down the sides and even with the gear stick, I removed the shroud and used a heat gun to mould the wrap down, around then underneath.

Now, I am just wondering if anyone has removed the climate control panel and if so, does the silver bit come off or are all the buttons etc attached to it. Ideally I would like it if it all did separate so that I could mould the wrap around the corners neatly. But yeah, just wondering if it is easily removed? If not, may have to get a professional wrapper to do it leaving it in the car or could just leave it silver.... Any thoughts would be appreciated.
