Hey,

Just recently purchased an 07 3 mps. Love it to bits.

However, got a bad clunk from th front suspension and it's starting to shudder/surge under light acceleration.

Sadly not to happy and don't know I'd I should take it to Mazda or not.

Previouly had an 06 wrx wagon so coming from awd to front is certainly different.

your questions are common problems to 3 MPS's

But your new, so a quick time saver
Shudder/surge could be the need for new spark plugs, depends on km on your car and service history.
Clunks are either Sway bar bushes, Sway bar end links. Or even Shocks and/or strut top bushes. All common things. I usually look at the sway bar bushes first, they are a cheap and easy repair. Then end links (actually, just check if the nuts are tight first) if they don't fix it, it will be struts
