Default mps6 rear shock install ?

    hey ppls

ive done a search and cannot find anything that details the install on some rear shocks for a mps6 ?

need to do some soon and was hoping my dad can install them (is a mechanic and can get a rattle gun etc )?

local mechanic has quoted $200 for labour ?

    Simple bolt in task -
    remove lower retaining bolt
remove two bolts from the top bracket
    unbolt shock from bracket

No hidden problems other than they are gas shocks so they extend when unbolted. A bit of a fiddle to get the extended shock out.

    Certainly not $200 labour charge

Do it yourself, no rattle gun required, just simple hand tools
Nothing like the satisfaction of doing it yourself.
Your dad will be able to do it with his eyes closed.

thanks mate.. the old man being 60 years of age and working on diesel truck engines i HATE hassling him to work on my car on the weekend..

BUT when i get over quoted on labour i would much prefer to buy him a nice bottle of cognac and keep the rest of the $200 in my pocket

Not so much of the 60 bit - I'm 61, just pulled the whole subframe out of my MPS6 to fit stabalizer bars - fitted front & rear shocks a couple of weeks ago to No1 sons MPS3. Looking at the MPS6 shop manual, they are the same fitment as the MPS3.

Had the shocks out of my MPS6 to fit the rear sway bar.
