Thread: Fibreglass Enclosed Sub Box

    Default Fibreglass Enclosed Sub Box

I was searching around on the net on different way to put a sub-woofer in the back on my car as my Bose system is almost dead and i though as I already have an aftermarket head-unit, i should change out the whole system

With the sub, really not looking to blow my eardrums out (past life) and am looking quality of quantity! And If I can retain my spare tyre at the same time, would be a bonus

Came across this company whom make a fiberglass sub box that goes where your tyre jack goes

Pretty pricey, but I thought there might be some talented folk here in Melbourne/Aus that could do this sort of work?

Looks nice and neat Pete....I went with a custom enclosure in it's original position in the wheel well underneath the boot floor. Works fine but in hindsight i should have went a slimline sub as it would sit under the boot floor without the need to adjust the height of the existing styro-foam floor. Out of interest what are they charging for this set up?

Just checked out the link regarding price....doesn't seem to bad!

    $329.00
They're a US based company, so I can only imagine what the shipping would be

oh man that is awesome. JL Audio also make a spare tyre sub, but wouldn't be that cost effective as the kit also includes a sub.

I do think the spare tyre sub is the best for practicality and also reversibility.

Was looking for one of these a while ago, with no leads apart from that US one - which is damn expensive once we factor in shipping.

it should fit under the floor in front of your spare tyre
Otherwise you can make modification to the foam pieces to relocate it there

Are these pre-made to suit the Mazda3? Or, are they custom made for each vehicle?
Couldn't find much about these guys.
