So my 50k service is approaching, is there anything that I should take to mazda? Brake pads (which ones?) and oils? (which ones?) I havent seen the service manual so I dont know what is involved. Any inputs appreciated.

As for lubes/oils, the Mazda dealer will have genuine lubes which are specified from factory. These lubes/oils will be fine.
If they say your brakes need doing, tell them not to do them yet until you've sourced out some of your own. You can always take it back to get the aftermarket ones (if you choose aftermarket of course) fitted by your dealer for the cost of labour.
As for choice of pads, I went with EBC Red Stuffs up front. Great cold, Magnifcent hot... REALLY HOT.
