Hey Guys,
Just been driving around latley and noticed a burning smell coming from the engine bay.
When i opened the bonnet, it smelt like burning or grinding metal!!!!
The car drives fine, no noises, changing gears is fine, no crunching or nothing at all.
Took it to a mates mechanics shop, and he had a quick look at it, and told me that its coming from the clutch, but i got no problem changing gears :s
Has any of yous experienced this similar issue before??
Cheers
Andy

If it smells like an intercity train.. It's the clutch. If you load it up does it slip? Have you had any exhaust work done lately? just on the off chance...

Nope doesnt at all. The car drives like its new, changing gears and all are smooth as. No work done to it, all stock.
im just stabbin' in the dark here..
anyone else driven it lately? without you n the car?
I know that this happened to someone else on here... and they slipped the ass out of his clutch.. causing it to smell like a train for days and days.........

Not that i know of :s
so what happened to the guy on here, the f#$%#d up his clutch? did he end up replacing it?
yes.. it was replaced

Under a "warranty" repair of all things, I had no idea that Mazda staff negligence was covered under warranty.
I also prefer to use the term allegedly replaced.
true..

Thanks guys, im taking it to mazda on wednesday for them to have a look at it.
Hope its nothing too bad.
Cheers
Good luck matie
