You actually get alot of spray from the wheels with a CAI, I have noticed it on the highway if I drop it back a gear and give it some.
I have had my CAI on for 6 months now and before that had a SRI on for about 6-12months and I have driven in absolute downpour and only have a couple of CEL issues, nothing major only small droplets on the MAF sensor.
