Mazda Turbo = Fail!
Mazda Turbo = Fail!
Are you guy's serious?
10,000km and the turbo is broken!
Well mazda can fix it at their expense, but I shall probably be getting e new turbo as soon as waranty expires.
Thanks for the info
Cheers
There are cars on this forum that have blown turbos with less than 10,000km..
Shame really.. i just hope Mazda replaces it and doesnt fob you off.

... now now.....
Perhaps, or just see how many I can break in the 3 years of waranty.
Im just ketting to know cars in general so ill sort something out when i have a bit more experience.
Well if Mazda does try to fob me off and tell me its 'normal' or something, then ill just sit there at idle and smoke them out with my 'normal' exhaust.
:P
Abit worried if the turbo has gone in Lachlan's MPS, wonder if anyone else has had issues?
Ha Ha, cheers.
I love my MPS, but I figure if anyone pays $45,000 for a car, it should probably work for more than 10,000km.
Anyway, thanks for the info/angry-support guy's. Im off now now.
Happy motoring
No more updates?
Yeah, I have one now.
Got my whole turbo ripped out and replaced under warranty. Car was out-of-action for 2 days. Sad thing is that since getting it back, there has been an annoying rattling somewhere at the front-left of the car. Hoping they have not broken something else!
Shall find out tomorrow, taking it back to them. (im happy to do so, it means free parking for the day )
Hey Guys,
Soon after my 10,000km service (where i requested a change of tranny fluid) on my Gen 2 MPS i started getting a Wong(whining noise) which was based on my search of the forums appeared to be a issue with the fluid.
Well, My Service department decided to change the drivers side drive shaft apparently thinking that was the cause of the noise.
I did mention the diff issue but they didn't take notice.
Noise was still present, so i booked it in again as they said they would need the car for 2-3 days.
Booked it in for 1 wk later as they would have a courtesy car available during the investigation.
Driving to work a few days later, lose power to the front wheels......Drive shaft came loose.....
On the phone to Mazda road side assist and a hr later a flatbed came to take my baby away. On the phone to the service department straight away, demanded a courtesy car straight away.
They have now had my car for abit over 1 wk.
Now.....they claim to have replace the drivers side as well as the passengers side drive wheel bearing.
And the noise is still there.....
They now believe its the diff. So...
They were getting approval from Mazda HQ to replace the tranny.
Apparently its coming this Monday and my car should hopefully be ready by Tuesday.
The car only had 2 bars of fuel (less then 1 quarter) as i was about to refuel on my way to work.....
Well, they've put in another $10 of fuel and want to charge me for that....
That aside.... What should i look out for after that driveshaft incident? Can there be any irreversible damage?
And what should i get the service department to offer me to keep me as a customer as i've lose faith in this service department. (Haven't named any names as it may be against forum rules)
Thanks for listening.
/End Rant
Whoa, sounds like the have no idea at all. They just keep replacing parts on the hope that they accidently find reason for whine. Love to see the final bill to Mazda for this one.
Name and shame dealer?
