Thread: Dealer do's and don'ts

    Default Dealer do's and don'ts

My last post made me think of the list of "Do's or Dont's" (mostly dont's of course) that I give the dealer when the car goes in for the service:

    Don'ts:
    - wash the car (they will never do it the way I do it - I don't want any swirls / scratches - more so on True Red MX-5 vs Velocity Red MPS6 whch is more durable)
    - clean the inside of the car
    - rotate the wheels
    - use any additive without my permission

    Do:
    - show me any /all of the parts you replace (bad experience with a Holden dealer!)
    - tell me exactly what you did on my car and what was found etc.
    - ask for a discount on the service! (nothing ventured - nothing gained)

There are a few more - but can't find my list currently!

    Who can add to this?

    Do's:

If theres a weird noise\vibration etc, tell them in this manner-
"It has been fine but recently it has started doing X X and X"
That way they cant come back and say, "Thats normal"
Because all you say then is "Well it has never done it before, its just started doing it, so it cant be 'normal' "

    Get the idea?

    Cheers

    Don't:
Charge double when you see a cold air intake and/or different exhaust
