Mine is currently exposed due to my boot ripping and I have been lazy in getting a new one, it looks strange and get the usual comment of "is there a reason thats missing?"

i honestly think short shifter kits are only good if you are concerned about going 1/10th quicker competing in track events regularly. otherwise its a w@nk.

Have you driven a car with a short shifter? Makes it feel completely different.

I thought the same till I drove mine with it installed, makes it feel great!!

Don't have to look far to find a w@nk around here . . . Short shifter will help you WOT changes no end. Coupled with a good rear mount you will drop it right in the slot every time. Even that tricky 2nd to 3rd shift. No WOT box required.

yep, all that money is good for .01 second faster shift.....only worth it if you want good lap times

if you have trouble finding 3rd in a manual.....i call w@nk!

    i have

    no trouble.

actually, i lie....i dont think corey's was stock at the time.

You obviously know absolutely nothing about these cars. And note, I know nothing and care nothing about your F. But then I don't try and provide comment on what I don't know and that is the difference. I call BS on your claim of doing this straight up on a stock MPS. You might have fluked it but you would be lucky to repeat it 2 out of 5 attempts because there is too much engine movement causing you to miss the gate.

    Settle boys

Just because he owns a XR5, does not automatically mean he knows nothing about cars.

Maniac has driven more cars than we have had cooked dinners.

For guys that blindly believe that your cars are so superior to every thing else on the road, you sure do get very defensive very quickly

Ok, heres the thing.....this thread is asking about opinions on short shifter kits. I gave mine, merely stating that its only worthwhile if you plan on competing, where the advantages will show. I dont care if people disagree or agree or whatever. You can call BS until the cows come home. I'm not the one who misses gates. I've driven 'more' than my fair share of performance cars to have an opinion on your sh|t shifting. Although you do have some merit in your chest beating......perhaps Corey's and the demo i drove did have the revised mounts that stopped the bloody engine from falling out.

If you are going to label Mazda enthusiasts W@nkers on a Mazda forum because they install a shifter be prepared to get a serve. Thanks for the invite so I will call BS again as you are full of it. Your abilities are obviously better than the vehicle's limitations so you are obviously a legend (of some sort). Now go play in the sandpit with your Ford mates where you can p!ss down each other's backs and pretend its raining.

My god your a tool.... Do you wonder why no-one else (with a MPS) is jumping in.... Your gone completely out of this world. Just cause you have impressive numbers in your signature doesn't mean yours is the only opinion that counts.

Mods... This place is getting worse than the USA MPS site..... Sort this tool out

I happen to be global mod on that forum and at least you can challenge fools there as I have here. Some may just be sitting back having a quiet chuckle. Getting a little rough for you is it? boo hoo

i was merely stating i thought the particular mod was a wank if you do not compete. But looking at your stats it seems you are the type to compete. It also seems you have a bottomless pocket to go with your mods because i cannot see your donk with stock internals holding that much power without blowing up.

It cant be your daily driver can it?!?! :

EDIT* i have just been informed you have already accomplished this..

    way to go!

The MPS gearbox is a worse bucket of bolts than the Muncie and the shifter is about as imprecise as the double decker bus shifter that Porsche used to supply on their rear engine models. A short shifter makes a significant improvement in the shift quality. On some other cars other it may be a wank, but on the MPS a SS is a necessity.
