Fuel Surging Gen II

Hey

Interesting this morning i started car and started on my journey to work, Red light was on i know i needed fuel and was on my way to do so

Trip meter said i have 20kms to empty - low i know!

I have a CAI and hypertech tune loaded also FYI

Anyway the car drove fine but when hitting over 10psi of boost the car would surge its ass off and carry on, So i thought ok low on fuel, its tuned so fair enough

filled it up and it continued to do it for approx 5 minutes of driving after that, and now its good (rest of trip to work was about another 45 mins, and i was testing it hard)

Any thoughts

My immediate thought is that the fuel pump dredged up some crap in the bottom of your fuel tank because your fuel level was so low

Glad someone else has said this.
i've had this happen before, but only at full throttle and low fuel level.
I know of another member who suffered the same while at the track. Also low fuel levels.
Both Gen1

Love to be able to replicate it and get a log on fuel pressure. I believe its just starvation. But that could potentually cause some serious problems.Now i just drive easier when the fuel light is on

if its a violent jerk, its due to starvation. Happens when the tanks half empty and you do a long left turn with high G's (think its left). Not very friendly to the car at all.

i would definately not drive it hard when the light comes on. what caffiene fiend said could also be a possiblity. either way, fill up 1/4 tank or soon as light comes on
