We have unfortunately just had an issue with a customer coming to us for tuning. He became quite upset over a very minor matter, so in an effort to forestall future issues, could customers please read the following first
(A) Please read the following link prior to bringing your vehicle to us - FAQ - Dyno Tuning Guide
(B) In order to book your vehicle in, we do require your residential address for legal reasons. P.O Boxes will not be sufficient.
Unfortunate with this customer, he refused to provide his residential address, which meant we were unable to perform any work on his vehicle. Legally we require the residential address should any documents need to be presented with authentication that they were received. Obviously this would only be required if there was some major issue and the courts were involved, but these days we have to cover ourselves from the very minute the vehicle appears on our door.
We hope that people can understand this requirement and not take offense.
I appreciate that some people are concerned about businesses passing on information to other sources, and of other reports that people have used the addresses to go and steal goods recently fitted to vehicles etc. I would submit this is a very minor occurrence, and not one that has ever been linked to our business.
Either way if you have an issue with providing your address, we will unfortunately be unable to provide any services for you at our premises.
For the customer who recently attended, we are sorry we were unable to reconcile your situation, but at the end of the day it was your choice to leave and not provide your address for the work to proceed on your vehicle. To imply that we did anything else other than ask for an address would be misleading to say the least.

That's one version of what happened today. I'll just say BUYER BEWARE and make sure you do some research before choosing someone who is going to undertake high-risk work on your car.

There is obviously an issue here between you two, lets keep it that way for the sake of the forum please.

One of my friends (not an MPS owner) and I also have a little issue with RPW, but I'm not going to say anything.

Haha oops I mean I'm not going to say why

I've had work done at performance workshops before and they haven't asked for my residential address but it wouldn't bother me either way - update your insurance policy and get a big dog if you are worried about your stuff getting ripped off by someone.
Paranoid or what...

My two cents-
I'm all for doing research before having a workshop perform high risk work on your MPS thats just common sense.
However I don't care how experienced a tuner is - there is always inherent risk in dyno tuning a vehicle regardless of where you take your car.
Name one workshop in Perth who guarantee's that no engine damage etc will occur as a result of their dyno tuning?
At the end of they day there is not a single tuner in W.A. who knows how to dyno tune MPS's to any great extent if at all - so for RPW at this early stage its a learning experience so anyone going to this workshop expecting them to be able to provide an awesome tune or recommendations on serious improvements like turbo's (not just air intakes and exhausts) to MPS's is kidding themselves.
RPW haven't even set themselves up with ECUTEK yet - once this is up and running I expect things will turn around very quickly here in W.A.
Fact is no other workshop in W.A. gives a shit about working on MPS's its an untapped market in terms of tuning and performance improvements so I'm all for supporting RPW in this exercise.
