Thread: Basic mods info

  1. Default Basic mods info

    Hi guys,

Im a newbie to turbo cars having had V8s most of my life.

Wanting to do some mods to a stock MPS 3 Gen11 2009-2010 model. Id like to increase low down power not high end.
Reading the forum it seems you Install a DP, new air intake and a tune. Is this the norm and what costs are involved doing these mods and what sought of power increase from 190kws. Is it low down power increase or all through the rev range with these mods.

    Cheers Richard

Check out edge auto sports website, links in the vendor section for the dp and intake. Get an accessport for the tune.
Number of overseas and local etuners available.

Mods will bring boost on earlier and give a meatier mid range.

Oh. Add a hpfp to that.
    I'd say
    *Cobb accessport
*Corksport stage 2 intake with box
    *Corksport or 2xs dp
    *Autotech hpfp

Run a stage 2 map for a while then go a custom etune.

HPFP = high power fuel pump
autotech Internals are $400 delivered which are important to maintain fuel pressure which dies in the bum when you add mods

Autotech internals are a must with jmacs list,
fuel pressure can die with just an SRI , everyone is different.
i was bolted and still maintained good pressure others just had an SRI and pressure died.

hahahah the stickers are worth +50 kw.

They might know what they are doing to a VL with a 5.0 in it but have NFI about an MPS.

Everyone's car is the fastest if you provide enough conditions

I think mines the fastest in Australia, with the Vic plates SLIXX

Thanks Jmac for the info. So 2xs is the man to see.

I thought turbo's were cheaper to mod then V8's. Is there any suppliers in Australia or all in US?
