    Default MPS6 In Perth

    Hi guys,

Thought I'd introduce myself now I have an MPS6.

I procrastinated over a daily for three or four months, test driving r32's, gti's evo's, s3's, liberty gt's etc. In the end the MPS offered the features I was after (comfortable daily that won't put me to sleep) without the expense of the r32/s3 or the attention an evo attracts.

It's a completely stock black/leather 6 bar some grandpa mods (stone chip protectors & weather guards) and given I already have an unreliable track car I need to build an engine for this one will stay mechanically stock with just some cosmetic changes. So I'm chasing some wheels & coilovers but otherwise hoping for some trouble free driving!

Are there any MPS specialist workshops in Perth?

    Cheers,
    Nick

MPS specialist mechanics you ask....don't know about specialist but Zack at Cypher industries has done all my work (as well as a number of MPS's)
Had my exhaust designed, fabricated and installed by him. I'll be getting the next service and front rotors done there too

Thanks for the suggestions and welcome, sounds like a good community over here.

I asked about shops mainly for work only a dealer would normally be able to take care off (for example vvt replacement requiring specific tools). Other than that I prefer to diy, I've had plenty of practice on the skyline

Other than that I foresee many hours wasted on yahoo auctions in the coming weeks looking for wheels/suspension....!

    Hi DCIEVE.

    Welcome.
My car is going to Zacka Chan at Cypher industries next Monday to have a non-factory turbo fitted.
For dealer stuff, i've been happy with the guys at Melville Mazda.
I bought the car from them, and there are a few rev-heads in the workshop who like working on stuff that is not your mother's shopping trolley.
Hope to meet you at a club cruise soon.

+ 1 to Wilkinson's. Top notch work with anything regarding suspension and wheels.

They even give you a complimentary T-shirt

haha yeh I know Brett, they've done plenty of work on the hr31 over the years. Also said he's done plenty of mps's so I guess that includes you guys.

Has anyone tried programming an ebay key? Need a spare and 50 + postage on ebay (plus programming) is trumping the 400 mazda quoted!

Ever since I had them installed I've had it at 50% (16 out of 32 turns I think, the lower the number, the softer the dampening) and never had a problem with them. Then while I was driving a rental lancer car I started to realise again how nice it was to have a softer suspension. So when I got home I changed it to 8 out of 32. Now it's much more comfortable and liveable and yet very little leaning in corners. There's still more I can dial it down if wanted cause I'm getting old .
Nuliaj: Hatches are only really half a car anyway.
shinslinger66: And you forgot to add that they are also a girls car!

I've done some searching without much luck - can anyone tell me the model designation for the 6 MPS - Is GG3S correct?

Got my eye on some coilovers, instant yahoo success

    DCIEVE-
I think it is simply GG series 2.
Rogwick. I was sooo close to going for the BNR stage 1 turbo for it's reliability, price and quick spool-up time, but at the last minute I saw a leaky, smelly, clapped out factory snail for only $1900+postage on ebay, and I thought, yeah, come in spinner....

    Oh, silly me, April 1st.

BNR stage 1 goes in Monday. Shouldn't be quite as awkward as the 2 or 3 because the actuator should be the same (I think??) and the heat shield ought not require trimming.

    Will let you know.

    (apologies for hijack, DCIEVE)

Haven't seen much of a trend with the mesh wheels latey
Would be a good change and i'd imagine you would stand out from the crowd with those

    Do like the LMs!

Leaning towards 8 +35 or 8.5 +40. All the stuff on yahoo is staggered though (including those lms), and the CH are all euro stud patterns
